Month 4… After my jump start on being 1/4 of the way through the year last month, now we really are!! I’m finding this exercise interesting to look back on what I do each month, it is nice to be able to track the year so clearly! But it is tiring, I’ll try not to wish the year away on days which are so mundane and dull. Then others come along and there is so much going on, or I’m doing interesting client stuff that I just can’t share! Only 4 flights this month, back to more of a sense normality!

The start of April dawned with great excitement – in the run up to the local elections, our council clearly think they know how to get a vote – by FINALLY issuing a glass collection box!! However this is quickly taken over by the excitement of being off to Venice for 4 days exploring – it was our 4th anniversary holiday and a gift to my husband for his birthday (couldn’t think of anything to buy the boy who has everything!). Venice was stunning, we loved our time there!
Back home and back to work – although it was especially nice to have an excuse to leave work early on the 2nd day back to go and visit a new arrival in hospital! Then sad to wave my old bike on to its new home, onwards on a lighter bigger wheeled bike that I still didn’t know I needed!
April has been quite nice weather wise – the rain seems to have departed for a little while, so especially good to a) get out running in new kit b) enjoy the garden and a glass of rose and c) have fun on a hen do in the New Forest!
The weather stayed on our side for a forest laser-tag team build as well! In fact it stayed good all the way into Easter, always nice! The end of the week was busy in London (lots of walking too – bus traffic jams), but then the long weekend included a baby shower, a lovely lunch with my husband at a new pub nearby and then my first trip to the touring cars – Mr P has developed a partnership through work with the Quantel Bifold team, so the first of a number of these GREAT events that we’ll attend this year!
Easter monday and we both worked, but had a fun lunchtime break with our godson and his parents and their new arrival (that slept!) – this time Sam got involved with the brio! Normally it is me over-engineering what can be done with trains! I then headed down to Cornwall with my mum to see my grandparents – the obligatory stop at Camel Valley was required (and pasties from Etheringtons of course). Stumbled across some out of date produce in Waitrose as well, very surprising – but the customer service is fantastic and sincere and very must resonates with their mission statement.
End of the month and a short trip to Finland. Amazed just how much daylight there is already, still 2 months away from mid-summer. As we flew over Scandinavia at about between 10 and 11pm the sun was only just going down! I always stay in Hiltons with work and flex the tier points, but the airport one was what impressed me most about what I saw of the country – lactofree milk is standard issue in hotel rooms, other hotels take note!!
So another month and now the UK is rapidly warming up and we are in to May…

Looking forward to reading through the link ups this evening!! Far too busy!! And not all exciting!!
A busy month! Hope May is just as much fun! 🙂

May is work-based predominantly… might struggle with photo variation!
Wow! This is a great way to keep track of what you do!

I panic some days though as I get to 5pm and don’t have a photo!!
Wow, you guys are busy!

never a dull day 😉
I’m a bit breathless after just reading through this. You are one busy woman! Sounds like you enjoyed every minute of it. I have always wanted to see the summer solstice in Sweden, as we have friends there and I have heard so much about it. Sounds like you had a good time and interesting note about the lacto-free milk!

Too busy with work mostly…. My lacto free radar is definitely working well in Scandinavia!!
I love Venice – it is just too far away along with many European escapes, wish I lived closer with even cheaper flights!

Some if the flights I’ve done with work recently in Europe… Would’ve been cheaper to go to the states… Taxes from uk are going crazy now… 🙁
What a great way of keeping track of what you do in a year. I think going to Scandinavia with the really long days would confuse my body. It does make for great photos of sunsets though! Thanks for linking up to #SundayTraveler again!

Definitely more confusing than the 2 hour time difference!! Landing at midnight their time and having to be up at 6am didn’t help either!!
Oooh Venice!!! We hope to go there soon. I’m going to hop on over to that blog post and read about it right now!

Enjoy, it’s a fab place for trainers and ambling!!
UK rapidly warming up!? I’m still waiting for that, although we did just have a lovely sunny bank holiday weekend for once. It was still rather chilly for May though.
Sounds like you’ve had a busy and varied April and I’m looking forward to seeing where May takes. Happy travels.

It is it is on the south coast at least. Although still on the changeable side – I had scarf and gloves on one day last week and then was out in the sunshine in a summer dress at times this weekend!
What a fun way to recap your full calendar, I especially enjoyed looking at the pictures. How cool it would be to pop over to Venice for a birthday celebration. What a great gift you provided.

looking forward to a surprise birthday present for me next year – although actually I was whisked away for mine this year in the UK, so I can’t complain!!
Wow, and I thought I was busy, Anna!!! We seem to be going to the same places at the moment but at different times. I was in Finland a few months ago and am heading for Venice later this year. One of these days, we’ll be in the same place at the same time! Happy travels 🙂

I am pretty sure at some point I’ll be sat in a lounge and realise that I recognise people from twitter! Would be nice to meet and compare travel notes – internet makes it too easy to not need to! Northern Ireland at the end of next month…. any plans to visit?!
Looks like you had yet another hectic month Anna! I am very envious of your short trip to Finland but that really falls into our type of traveling right now, especially since we started focusing on our new niche of Weekend Getaways. You really have emphasized here that you can achieve a lot in a short time which is a great philosophy to have, especially when you have a full-time job as well.

always hectic! more so looking back on it and wondering just how I managed to get through the month and actually see my husband and take time off the day job 😉
Mr P and I are pretty convinced that a long weekend gives as much benefit as a week off – 3 nights away is perfect to feel relaxed and forget what you leave behind! Also quite cost effective!!
