OH BABY IT’S A WILD WORLD – MY TRAVEL WISHES

Oh baby it’s a wild world 🎶 For many reasons, but lets focus on the adventures. Here’s the things I wish for my baby from travel based on the life skills I take from it.

To travel

Just having the opportunity to see the world in the first place is something special. Not taking it for granted is essential.

To learn

Whether it’s a new language, about a place or its history, about a culture, a new skill or sport.

To experience

Hot and cold weather, air, land and water, camping, luxury and something in between. The places we already love and the ones we discover together. Variety is the spice of life.

To understand

The history and culture and challenges of a place. To acknowledge the privileges he has. To make his own mind up about things not be swayed by hearsay.

To respect

Others, their history and culture. That people can speak English as a second language better than we can ourselves. Understand and respect.

To appreciate near and far

A weekend at home, with family or friends in the UK or a holiday or trip further afield. No one type is better. Expensive isn’t best.

To be confident

With life experience comes confidence and interest and hopefully develops a boisterous and happy little boy.

To adapt

It won’t be the same as at home. Adapting is a strength and so important.

To appreciate more than just things

The main one for me. He already has so many things, I wish more than anything that his current interest in the world around him continues to be what he appreciates most.

To make memories

The blog will capture them perfectly, it has a new raison d’être! Travel for us has always been about creating memories. Travel as a family doesn’t change that, it makes it even more important. To create those memories and to cherish them.

Vienna beckons in a few weeks. For us it is about working out how the travel with baby malarkey actually works!!
