Oh the trouble I got in for taking this action shot… This is us in third spot, hot on the heels of 1st and 2nd place – we were flying in this race, everything was going well! To capture the moment I whipped out my waterproof camera that I had stuffed into a pocket in my buoyancy aid and took a photo to record our mid-race success!
Fortunately we hung on to our 3rd place and Mr P and I were both stoked! I had been poorly earlier in the year and hadn’t dared to think we’d be on top form like this for the regatta, so you can imagine we were bouncing off the walls that day!
Garda – July 2008
This was our 2nd trip to Garda and by far the best! On the water happiness, fantastic social and even the drive there and back was fun – we borrowed a land rover discovery and even with 5 of us we had enough space to spread out!
Worst moment – almost running out if fuel in Calais, we made it on the fumes I think!!
Top tips – don’t let 2 of the nominated drivers drink on the ferry… I had a very long drive through France as a result of being the one that didn’t have a beverage!
