If ever I have any time to myself then I love looking through photos from our trips or weekend activities. ‘Let your memory be your travel bag’ said someone once, it’s one of many such travel quotes that pops up on instagram frequently and I totally agree, that is why we take photos when we travel! This is my Grandpa’s camera from during the war when he was in Africa, I can only imagine the memories that it captured:
However, it is simply impossible for me to identify ‘a’ favourite travel photo – we took over 1,000 during 5 days in Ireland at the end of June – so I have to share a few of my favourite holiday memories instead of just one as I struggle to get down to a Facebook album of 100 from 1,000, let alone just one from many trips!!
If I was picking one shot that means ‘relax you are on holiday and about to see some more of the world’ however, it would probably be this one – as this to me epitomises the start of a good holiday! The view from the Concorde Room at T5, with the obligatory glass of vintage fizz in hand (despite that being sunrise we were watching not sunset… we were on Oman time at this point I believe)
Next up, an absolute favourite shot from honeymoon – this is my husband as the shadow, we were about to climb Lion’s Head in Cape Town with great friends whose wedding we attended during our honeymoon. We had gotten up so early and there was a lot of worry that the mist would mean no sunrise, how wrong we were to worry! Just incredible! The whole of the city and the sea was covered in cloud so as we looked down it was more like we were in a plane than up a hill! As the day started the sky was cloudless blue with a carpet of white fluff below us – perfect (although it was dreary on the Camps Bay beach that morning!!)
Favourite places also lead to favourite photos… I’m thinking of Cornwall and Norfolk predominantly as I was lucky enough to spend my youthful summers in both and love going back to either with Mr P.
And this year, well even then I can’t get it down to 1 photo… but instead I’ve put them into a collage which is kind of one… 3 amazing trips so far this year – UAE (what a view from Qasr al Sarab), Venice (beautiful) and Donegal (Five Fingers Strand near Malin Head), all beautiful and all memorable and all good Mr & Mrs P R&R time

Brilliant photos and my favourite is definitely the one from the Concord Room as it screams the start of a holiday and an exciting adventure ahead x

great for sunrise, we enjoyed the fizz too much when we were there at sunset, but I am guessing it doesn’t have the ‘sundowner’ view!
I just love love love the lion’s head view over CT and the sea! and that shot is amazing! I also love your pictures of Cornwall, I dream of spending a summer there! I mean I love your pictures all around! 🙂

There is so much to explore over there!
Love the photo of that vintage camera and that photo of the desert looks so inviting!

I thought we’d be bored in the desert with no sea, but seriously I could watch the sand move and change for hours!
Lovely photos! And putting them all in one post just shows how much fun you are having. Love the beach ones in particular, makes me wanna pack up and head for the coast tomorrow!
Beautiful photos, I am exactly the same as you – I can take hundreds of photos in a day, I remember from my trip to NYC & Caribbean in 2012 (14 days) between me and my friend, we took 2400 photos 😐 I like the shot from Brancaster – The clouds in the sky have that great sweeping effect where they look like they are moving. Love the shorts from Cornwall too, so vivid and so much colour!

Thank you – we are always seeking another photo that we can pop on a canvas on the wall at home! Cameras these days are so forgiving! Brancaster – Norfolk skies, as it is so flat you get so much sky it is awesome!
